Rossi Announces School Safety Grants for 59th District Non-Public Schools
June 8, 2026
WESTMORELAND COUNTY - Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced three nonpublic schools in the 59th Legislative District will receive state grants to enhance school safety, security and student well-being.
The schools receiving funding are:
• Christ the Divine Teacher School – $75,000.
• Valley School of Ligonier – $29,400.
• Adelphoi Education Inc. – Latrobe - $74,992.
“Every student deserves to learn in a safe and supportive environment,” said Rossi. “These grants will help our local schools strengthen security measures and expand resources that promote student well-being and peace of mind for families.”
The awards were approved this week by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee as part of a statewide distribution of 353 grants totaling nearly $20 million.
Funding may be used for a range of school safety improvements, including security enhancements, emergency preparedness planning, training and personnel support, and programs that address student mental and behavioral health needs.
The School Safety and Security Grant Program is administered by PCCD and supports schools and other eligible entities across Pennsylvania in strengthening security infrastructure and expanding access to resources that promote safe learning environments.
